Zamsoe celebrates International Women's Day 2022

Karen our founder would like to share a mission for us all. International Women's Day in 2022 imagines a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.  Other things I believe in...

❤My brand is Zamsoe, my logo is a mash-up of a seahorse to represent my love of the ocean, combined with butterfly wings representing my love of nature and then combined with gridlines taken from the Angle of the North to remind me of my northern roots.

❤My Values are to never take myself too seriously in business, learn something new, always keep inventing, designing and challenging myself and step out of my comfort zone when you have been in business along time, like me, you can just keep plodding on the same old paths.

❤I think a lot about running a business is giving back, I do this by buying all the components and other items I use in making my jewellery presenting it at trade shows etc from small independent companies based in the UK.

❤My next value is to be kind to the world and my goodness this seems even more important than ever. All our packaging is totally made from recycled materials even down to the envelope, so if you are a trade customer I am sorry about some of the boxes you receive especially after Christmas I always feel dreadful when sending out recycled wine boxes for people to open only to find a box full of brooches the disappoint must be immense.

❤My most important value is to do something good with my business.I am really lucky to live by the most beautiful beach in Cornwall. So last year I built a gallery in my garden fondly known as the  Marmalade shed as my son makes marmalade for uni funds (beer) I invited local designer-makers to display their work along with mine. I did not ask for any commission just a donation to the RNLI and last year we raised an amazing amount for them. This year I am aiming to double it!

❤Another one of my values is supporting the creative community each month I treat myself to something from a small independent makers. Last month a bought a fabulous candle holder with 'BOLLOCKS' written on it from the super talented @amycooperceramics and this month I treat myself to some enamel mugs for my little /she shed HQ and campervan from my lovely friend kim @witchmountain
